Earl always enjoyed his yearly fishing trip to Canada and enjoyed golfing at Blue Needles. Earl was on the Catlin School Board for many years and received the distinguished service award from the Catlin Jaycees in 1971. He and his wife Sharon were in the Golden Eagles. He was a Shriner’s and rode the 25 man bike and was a member of the GAO Grotto. He was the 2016 Secretary of the Year for the Illinois Masonic Lodges. Earl was a 32 nd Degree Mason and was a 4 times past master of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge #154 and received his M.S.A. He was a scoutmaster and earned the Order of the Arrow. He was involved with Boy Scouts for many years and was an Eagle Scout. Earl was a lifelong member of the Catlin Church of Christ. He retired from GE as an Engineer after over 35 years of service. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Masters in Industrial Engineering. He was part of the test unit that took part in nuclear testing in the desert called Operation Teapot. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Ralph Lomax and Tom Lomax Sr., and 2 sisters Edna Lomax and Janette Lomax.Įarl was a veteran of the U.S. ![]() Other survivors include 1 daughter, Bonny (Steve) Dixson of Gonzales, TX 3 sons, William “Buzz” (Betty) Roberts of State College, PA, Eric (Phyllis) Lomax of Catlin, and Marcus (Jill) Hackman of Catlin 3 brothers, Bob (Dottie) Lomax of Florida, Jim (Betty) Lomax of Catlin, and Oscar (Jean) Lomax of Fairmount 1 sister, Peggy (Richard) Myler of Sidell 13 grandchildren, James Dixson, Jon Dixson, Joye Beard, Jason Dixson, Ryan Roberts, Rachael Roberts, Ross Roberts, Amber Plotner, Drew Lomax, Joshua Trimble, Ashley Baer, Byron Hackman, and Brant Hackman 34 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He married Sharon Hathaway on Augin Georgetown, IL. Georgetown – Earl Edmund Lomax, 87, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:10 pm Saturday, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.Įarl was born on in Danville, IL the son of Ralph R. ![]()
